Sundby Library Furniture

Johnny Larsen carpentry was given an assignment by BCI Lammhults Biblioteksdesign A/S.
They had designed new furniture for Sundby Library as a part of a renovation period.

The series of furniture included height adjustable tables, tables in different sizes and heights. Also a height adjustable table for children and a dividing wall to separate the play area from the reading area.

BCI presented Johnny Larsen carpentry with a series of 2D drawings of the furniture, which had to be changed into production plans. Johnny Larsen was in this period very busy which is why they asked for my help.

My job was to manage the process from here on. I had to review the drawings to figure out how to produce the furniture, and in collaboration with the designer from BCI go over the questions and problems that occurred along the way. I also had to measure the location to secure the position of the furniture.

The process of making production plans was done in 3D drawing program, Solid Works. The production plans was then handed over to the carpenter that had to manufacture the furniture.

During this process I was in close contact with the carpenter to avoid mistakes or misunderstandings.

The implementation of the furniture ended on the 15th of august 2014, and can now be seen on Sundby Library, Jemtelandsgade 3, 2300 Copenhagen.
